ოქროს საბადოსთან ცხოვრების საფასური: კომპანია „არემჯის“ საქმიანობის ეკონომიკური და სოციალური გავლენები მოსახლეობაზე

Mining companies directly harm the environment. The mining activity and the dependence on the mining industry is increasing annually (the share of mining industry in the country's economy) in Georgia. These companies are less protective of the standards imposed by the state, which have to reduce the damage. The damage caused to the natural environment, directly or indirectly, affects the social environment and affects the local population.
The largest supplier of natural resources in Georgia is the company - Rich Metals Group (RMG) and the research interest reffered to that enterprise. Aim of the research was to find out what social and economic impacts are affected on the inhabitants of the Bolnisi and Dmanisi municipalities by working activities held by the company RMG. The study covered the following issues: problems caused by environmental pollution in the settlements, health issues, economic activity of the population, agriculture condition, employment, social status of the population and social changes.
The study is based on theories of social resilience and vulnerability. It also discusses the framework of International Social Impact Assessment that includes all possible social impacts and ways to prevent negative impacts on the population.
