კურორტ წაღვერის რეაბილიტაციისა და განვითარების ახალი მიმართულებების გამოვლენა: ტრანსდისციპლინური მიდგომა

Nowadays rest and recovery have become one of the main demands of people in the world. In
order to restore and retain health, vacationers are increasingly selecting resorts that are known for
their medical and healing properties. Georgia is well known for its rich tourism potential. There
are special places among Georgian health-care resorts that were popular in Soviet times. One of
them is Tsagveri, a very famous and unique resort in the Soviet period, which is experiencing a
shortage of tourists today. Tourism is not developing here properly, while the resort has a
significant resource and a long history. In Tsagveri, it is possible to introduce new current
directions of tourism, which will attract more international visitors and at the same time to restore
the usual profile – medical and family tourism.
Both the research and paper are dedicated to analyzing the tourism potential of the mentioned
resort in order to identify the resort prospects, the hindering factors of development and the main
directions that can be developed here.
The research was carried using the transdisciplinary approach, this approach is new in Georgia and
it will help to study area comprehensively. As a result of the research, it will be possible to talk not
only about Tsagveri but also about other resorts which are practically non-functional after the
collapse of the Soviet Union and require rehabilitation. Today, during the mass tourism era, it is
necessary to explore the unique resorts and along with the healing factor discover other new
innovative directions that will attract tourists of different categories.
