Abstract
74 years after the founding of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, is still an important issue for their effectiveness and importance in the global economy. The objectives and functions of these Financial Institutions have passed the important evolutionary path of their existence. Is it an appropriate model for a world where macroeconomic imbalances, financial crises, and disparities in economicdevelopmentrequire special supervision and adequate measures for their prevention? This work examines the historical, economic and political prerequisites of the establishment of International Financial Institutions, their influence on the original goals and functions of these Institutions, as well as on the role of political and economic philosophies influencing the functioning of International Financial Institutions at different times. The work also deals with the most urgent of the modern era, the 2008 crisis and the post-crisis period, the main aspects of the functioning of these institutes, their role in preventing this crisis and preventing further complications Independent Georgia relations with International Financial Institutions are analyzed during two different Georgian governments. The role of these institutions is assessed by specific examples of success and mistakes achieved by them in transformation of the transition to the market economy of Georgia's economy.
