Abstract
Every activity that is directed to any goal, needs planning, to determine the possible deviations and receive efficient result. Nowadays the successful company's activity is unimaginable without strategic planning, which has always been in some form, though over time it has been revived and implemented in almost all spheres of management. The strategic planning is company's choice of ways of development, markets, competition methods and business vision, all of the activities that will help in achieving goals. Successful managers of the world unanimously recognize that strategic management performs a tremendous role in improving the performance of any company.
The process of forming, implementing and evaluating the strategy requires great knowledge and effort. This process is gradually improving and implemented in practice, but it is interesting to observe the current situation. Based on this, I have chosen one of the most developed and fastest growing wines in our country. The first two chapters of the topic relate the theoretical bases for proper making of strategic planning. The third chapter reviews the current situation and the main trends in wine industry. I have selected two successful companies: "Tbilvino" and "Kakhetian Wine Cellar". As far as possible, I managed to analyze their activities, evaluate the current situation, present common and distinctive features. Based on the results I made small recommendations that, I think, will help companies improve their performance and achieve more success.
