Abstract
The paperwork “Modern Challenges of Using Georgia’s Transit Potential” discusses
the favourable geographical location of Georgia as a great apportunity for the
development of our country’s economy, which is directly related to the organized
and efficient operation of the transportsectors. Georgia is a key country of the transport
system of Europe, the South Caucasus and Central Asia. Improving transport infrastructure
and vehicles is a mecessary precondition for the economic and social development
of the country.
That’s whyit is very important to study the corresponding data related to transport in
the Association Agreement with the European Union and to implement them
gradually. Involvement in the EU transport and communication netwerks opens up
completely new opportunities for Georgian citizens and businesses and helps to become one
of the major hubs connecting transport routes of Europe and Asia.
The paper consists of three chapters. The first chapter discusses the
development of transport arteries in the cotext of globalization. The history of world
transport is presented first, and then the role and structure of the transport system. The
second chapter discusses the transport sector in Georgia and its role in the country’s
economy. The transport vehicles are reviewed and its importance to the economy is futher
emphasized. As for it’s execution are given in the form of factors and determinants of the
transport sector and what opportunities exist for the development of Georgia’s transit
function are discussed.
It summarizes all the key issues in the conclusion. The location of Georgia has always
given it a great responsibility to occupy an important place in the process of
world civilization. Our country plays an important transit function in the modern
economic environment.
