Abstract
In the modern Vuca world and rapidly changing environment, ensuring the professional and career development of the employees is uttelry and critically important for maintaining the vitality of organizations in the face of global competition and generational change. In the current global pandemic, the need for companies to be prepared to respond to crises is becoming increasingly apparent, leading to highly qualified employees, their development and ongoing training, knowledge of critical positions and roles in the organization, and the preparation for future replacements. All of the abovementioned includes a talent management system that meets the high demands of professional and career development on the one hand and helps employers to overcome the challenges painlessly and maintain the talent in the company.
The paper discusses the importance of a talent management system in the modern business industry and also discusses its impact on employee retention. The aim of the research was to determine the challenges of talent management and the impact on the retention of employees in this system. To study the issue in depth the qualitative research has been carried out. The research participants were HR executives and HR business partners of Georgian and international companies with a talent management system introduced. 14 in-depth written and audio interviews (optional) have been conducted through a pre-structured questionnaire as part of the study.
The study found that there is a close relationship between talent management and employee retention, and one of the key factors for long-term employee retention for organizations is the availability of career and professional development opportunities. The results confirm that the implementation of the talent management system in the case of the companies participating in the study significantly led to rise in employee retention rates; The results obtained are quite significant, as the vast majority of Georgian organizations competing in the Georgian labor market are not yet talented, the system is now gaining relevance, therefore, the results of the survey provide the management of such companies with interest in the talent management system and its usefulnes
