End User Agreement

This End User Agreement governs the use of openscience.ge, the National Science Library's open-access academic digital repository, by individual authors and representatives of organizations.

1. Purpose of the Repository

openscience.ge is a centralized open-access platform designed to collect, store, and provide access to scientific materials. It serves institutions, researchers, and the broader public by promoting the dissemination and long-term preservation of scientific information.

2. User Account and Registration

2.1 The user has the right to create an account in the scientific repository for the purpose of uploading materials and managing their own profile.
2.2 Users must provide accurate and up-to-date information in their profiles.
2.3 Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account credentials.
2.4 The repository administrator reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

3. Submission and Rights

3.1 Users may upload only materials for which they have the right to distribute.
3.2 By submitting materials to the repository, users grant a non-exclusive license allowing the repository to store and distribute the content.
3.3 Users confirm that they have all necessary rights and permissions to upload the material and that doing so does not infringe on any third-party copyrights.
3.4 Uploading materials to the repository does not transfer ownership. Copyright remains with the author, publisher, or institution.

4. User Responsibilities

4.1 Users are responsible for ensuring that uploaded materials comply with copyright laws, institutional policies, and publisher agreements.
4.2 Users must uphold ethical standards in academic publishing, maintain author transparency, and avoid plagiarism, falsification, or fabrication.
4.3 Users must provide accurate metadata and detailed descriptions to enhance the discoverability and indexing of their materials in search engines.

5. Responsibilities of the Repository

5.1 The repository provides a platform for sharing scientific information and is responsible for maintaining its infrastructure and functionality.
5.2 The repository is not responsible for the content of uploaded materials, including inaccuracies, copyright issues, or legal disputes arising from user-submitted content.
5.3 The repository reserves the right to restrict or remove any material that violates its policies or related guidelines.

6. Access and Use of Material by Third Parties

6.1 Materials uploaded to the repository are publicly accessible, unless the user restricts access to specific content.
6.2 The user agrees that third parties may view, download, share, and cite the materials posted, in accordance with the terms of the relevant license specified for each material.
6.3 The repository is not responsible for how third parties use the materials posted in the repository

7. Amendments to the Agreement

7.1 The repository reserves the right to update or amend this Agreement periodically.
7.2 The repository reserves the right to limit or terminate access to the service for any user who violates this Agreement.
