The presented Master's Thesis is the attempt to study semantic field of denial expression in Kartlian dialect. There is a danger that the material reflecting live speech to lost during the time or undergo unwanted changes, therefore, one of the topical issues of Georgian dialectology is to find and research samples of oral speech. Denial is one of the categories of modality, the interest of its study is great and therefore, it is important to study this issue in Kartlian dialect according to local dialects and gorges.
The work aims to find, analyze and research lexical units expressing semantic of denial in Kartlian dialect. The task of the work is to find out the linguistic means by using of which the expression of denial modality is active in the live speech.
The scientific novelty of the work is that by the descriptive and comparative method we carried out classification of illustrative material according to the means of producing and semantic characteristics, we analyzed and, as far as possible, compared each other chronologically materials recorded at different times in the villages of Kartli by Georgian linguists and the vocabulary expressing the denial. During comparison we found similar and different examples according to the local dialects and gorges of the Kartlian dialect.
