გამარჯვების ტრავმა და ქართული ნაციონალიზმი: 1988-1992 წლებში

The aim of the thesis is to examine the role of “Trauma of triumph” in the determination of Georgian nationalism in 1988-1992.
Specifically, on the basis of a comparative analysis of the social-political situation and the rhetoric of nationalism, determine how a phenomenon “Trauma of triumph” reflected in Georgian nationalism in pre-traumatic period: from 1988 to November 1990, election of Zviad Gamsakhurdia as a head of supreme council, and post-traumatic period of 1992 - the history of the previous traumatic period from November 1990 to 1992.
The research is essentially new approach, as Georgian nationalism in this particular period is not examined in terms of “Trauma of triumph”.
According to the hypothesis, “Trauma of triumph” is considered as one of the factors in determining Georgian nationalism.
To examine the hypothesis, the work studies the dynamic of changes in the nationalistic rhetoric in the years of 1988-1992. The paper also seeks to analyze the main socio-political factors, that played a role in formation of “Trauma of triumph”; in the purpose of finding interrelation between the “Trauma of triumph” and nationalism – thesis directly focuses on the dynamics of rhetoric in pre- and post- traumatic periods.
The thesis tries to answer the following research questions: How the “Trauma of triumph” was represented in Georgian nationalism? Did it play a role as one of the factors, in determining the nature of Georgian nationalism?
