კატალონიური ნაციონალიზმის გამოწვევები: საერთაშორისო და საშინაო ფაქტორების როლი კატალონიის დამოუკიდებლობის გზაზე

The aim of the work is to examine the foreign and domestic factors influencing the struggle
for independence of a particular ethnic group or region, and what aspects may give the status of
separatism to process of fight for the independence of any ethnic group. The research also
discusses the time when struggling for certain changes of the ethnic group or region is justified
both locally and globally, and what issues should be taken into consideration in this process.
The work will focus on Catalan nationalism and the struggle of this Spanish region for
independence in the past few years. Radicalization of Catalan nationalism, demanding
independence, and the failure of this attempt will be the subject of the research. The issue will
be discussed in three main directions: Catalonia's internal political, economic and social
situation in 2010-2017, that caused the development of processes in the fall of 2017, when the
local authorities declared independence on the basis of an unauthorized referendum by Spanish
Court, research also discusses Spanish internal political system, that considered the efforts of
Catalan government illegal and non-legitimate and also the actions of Catalan officials were
considered as separatism and not as self-determination. And the third direction will be the
position of the European Union and its Member States, which considers the radicalization of
Catalan Nationalism and the attempt of independence as threat and danger towards united
European supranational idea.
