The dissertation thesis concerns one of the most developing and promising trends of the
modern tourism industry - exploring the resource potential of rural tourism and identifying
priority directions for its use in Racha. It includes: title, content, annotation, introduction,
main article (3 to 9 paragraphs), conclusion, used literature and appendices.
The first chapter discusses the conceptual issues of rural tourism, in particular the modern
approach to the concept of rural tourism, the types and models of rural tourism, as well as
theories and socio-economic conditions of origin and development of rural tourism. The
second chapter is dedicated to the study of resources in Racha in order to assess the current
state of affairs. Based on the foreign experience of rural tourism and the study of Racha
resources, it is established that different types of rural tourism can be developed in Racha. The
third chapter focuses on the current state of rural tourism development in Racha, outlines the
challenges facing rural tourism and ways of overcoming them, identifying priority areas for
rural tourism in Racha.
Thesis doctoral student while covering the key issues of the research, was led by the concept
according to which rural tourism is considered to be the alternative means of development of
agricultural and mountainous regions and includes the development of socio-economic
conditions of agricultural and mountainous regions through the prosperity of the population,
rational use of the natural and cultural heritage, environmentally friendly tourism products,
rural support to entrepreneurship, tourism activities and local community involvement in this
activity and through the creation of partnerships between the participants.
