Abstract
The objective of the present work is to analyze legal regulation of minors’ labor, to display its pros and cons, if there is the case. Exploitation of minors’ labor continues to be an actual theme. Since ancient times most of families employed the children from early age to perform household, including to educate minor siblings, to go for shopping… Character of labor depended on size of family and values dominated in it. The minors’ labor did not mean activity in safe environment because they could not perfectly protect the rules of labor safety for a simple reason of age. Here it is worth considering the fact that their labor has almost never been paid.
Thus, it can be assumed that these were parents who “abuse” physical and mental abilities of the minors, but it is not considered exploitation due to opinions established in society. It is assumed that “foreign” employers exploit rather that nationals that is in a certain way conditioned by family relations, that is absolutely wrong . The minors are often abused by them who otherwise should care of them and protect their rights. Regular involvement of the minors by their parents in household is negatively reflected on both child’s intellectual growth (presence in school, studying, relation with friends, entertainment, spending leisure) and his phsychical and physical health.
Frequently violation of minors’ labor rights by their families are not responded by society because of considering it “natural event”. For the purpose of protecting the minors’ rights, only in especially acute cases there is a response of public agents that frequently brings disastrous results.
