Abstract
In the modern world of permanent changes formal education becomes more and more insufficient. Individual experience and practice is very important. While the current labor market (economic and technological changes as well) requires better flexibility and knowledge, people face the problem of qualification validation.
The existence of a full-fledged system of education requires the presence of the tools of informal education validation, since it does not matter where, how and when the person acquired knowledge, rather important for him/her is to be able to pursue it.
The most significant process for the existence of the tools of informal education validation is informing the citizens – employers, employees and unemployed people (raise awareness about its benefits).
The rule of non-formal professional education validation exists in Georgian legislation. It determines whether the person’s qualification meets the demands, skills and knowledge required for a person of certain qualification.
The purpose of this thesis is to research the tools of non-formal professional education validation, to identify the risks and benefits associated with the implementation of the named process, to discuss the challenges that the professional institutions have to face and the measures planned by the state to improve the current situation.
Since the process of non-formal professional education validation is currently going through the phase of reforms, changes are made in the rules and the final version does not yetexist, my research is deserves interest, because it includes in-depth interviews with the experts personally involved in the named process. No other study has been conducted in Georgia that would include the opinions of both – of the professional educational institutions and of those aspiring for the validation of non-formal education.
