Institutional economics is one of the important part of modern economic theory.
Characteristics of Institutions in Post communist transition countries are very interesting
topics for Institutional Economics. Georgia started transition from planned to market
economy in early 90s but institutional change process is still very actual for society.
Main goals of the research are: to evaluate level of institutional development of
different institutions in the Georgia and to compare to other post-transition countries, to
discover interactions between the formal and informal institutions in the economy, to
determine the institutional impact on the real economy.
To reach the goals main objectives were to use modern institutional classifications, to
review institutional indicators and to use statistical methods for evaluating interactions
between institutional and real economic variables including correlation analysis.
The practical outcome of the research are coefficients describing level of institutional
groups, relationships between institutional variables and interactions between institutional
and macroeconomic variables. The most important scientific outcome of the research is to fill
practical researches about institutional change processes in Georgia. Research results should
be important for public governance and for private sector.
