Abstract
,,Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) is a dual-focused education approach in which an additional language is used for the learning and teaching both content and language.“ [Coyle, Hood and Marsh, 2010: 1]
Topicality of the research - David Graddol in his book „English Next‟ wrote about the world now viewing English not so much as a language but as a core skill (Graddol 2006: 15). This is a crucial observation, and it lies at the heart of the educational and social change that has taken place since the development of the Internet and the parallel growth in globalisation. As for Georgia as a pro-western country which agrees on the importance of having English as a core skill in the school curriculum.
Accordingly, the goal of the research is to define the features of Content and Language integrated learning (CLIL) methodology within the process of teaching English on the Example of Georgian private high schools. Therefore, the objectives are:
 To search secondary data and analyse it;
 To design the research methodology and the research instrument;
 To conduct empirical research;
 To analyse the results of the research, draw conclusions and make recommendations;
The novelty of the thesis is that the issue of defining the features of CLIL methodology has not been studied at the high school stage of teaching English in Georgia. The novelty lies into the experiment itself with public high school students with the help of using CLIL units for the purpose of elevating their competence in the English Language. At last but not least, the research aims to show the effectiveness of simultaneous using CLIL and EFL.
The subject of the research is to define the features of CLIL methodology within the process of teaching English on the Example of. As for the research object, it is the process of teaching CLIL subjects in Georgian private high schools.
The research hypothesis was proved with the help of the following research, Content and Language Integrated Language (CLIL) improves the pupils‟ academic performance in English Language.
