ლორდ ბაირონის პოეზია XIX-XXI საუკუნეების ქართულ პრესაში, როგორც ტრანსლატოლოგიური კვლევის ობიექტი

The personality and works of the famous English romantic poet George Gordon Byron were known to Georgian society even during his lifetime. His greatest works were read through French or Russian editions and translated into Georgian as well.
By the end of the 19th century, translation issues, due to the expansion of the area of translation from a foreign language into the Georgian language, are slowly improving directly from the source text to the target language. Accordingly, it was chosen as the topic title "Lord Byron's poetry in the Georgian press of the 19th-21st centuries as an object of translatological study".
The thesis consists of introduction including the purpose of study, relevance, scientific novelty and methodology, the main part and conclusion. The main part integrates two chapters: 1. For the study of translation theory. 2. Translatological study on the pieces of Byron in the Georgian press; Each chapter is divided into sub-chapters.
The work mainly reviews the translations of Byron's poetry in the Georgian area during three centuries (XIX, XX, XXI). At the same time, the thoughts of translators and researchers of different periods regarding the Georgian translations of Byron's poetry are presented. It is noteworthy that attention is focused on the methodology of the "Linguistic Image" produced by academician Innes Merabishvili, the founder of the Byron School in Georgia, scholar and translator in Georgia. The latest method guided us in the analysis-evaluation of Georgian translations of different periods and in comparing them with the source text to determine equivalence.
All studied by us is the novelty for translation studies on the issues of translating Byron's poetry into Georgian.
