Abstract
The aim of the present dissertation is to provide a comprehensive synchronic analysis of the Tsova-Tush word-formation system, taking into account diachronic data. This study investigates the derivation and compounding of nouns, adjectives, participles, pronouns, numerals, masdars, verbs, and adverbs, identifying productive word-formation models and existing constraints. The dissertation examines each derivational affix and discusses its etymological aspects. Additionally, the dissertation describes the structural and semantic models of Tsova-Tush compounds. Particular attention is paid to stem formation processes within each part of speech, unique word-formation models distinguishing Tsova-Tush from other Nakh languages, and the influence of Georgian language contact on the Tsova-Tush word-formation system. This dissertation will make a significant contribution to the in-depth understanding of Tsova-Tush word-formation mechanisms and, more broadly, to comparative studies of Nakh languages
