ქართლ-კახეთის სამეფო ოჯახის წევრთა დაპირისპირება და მისი შედეგები სახელმწიფოებრიობის გაუქმების პერიოდში

The aim of this paper is to make it more visible and to show in other angles results of existing and them more inflamed controversy in the royal family in the second half of the XVIII century, for Kartl-Kakheti and for Georgia as well. The paper also describes the complicated processes that occurred during the period that led to the confrontation. At the same time, the policy pursued by Russia was aimed at abolishing the Kingdom of Georgia.
In this paper, is also discussed the attitude of the members of the royal family to each other and towards the homeland. Their initial view led to the loss of statehood because they only acted in their interest and struggled to defend it until they realized the threat. At the same time, I tried to show how Russia was trying to use this confrontation to ease its goals. I suppose this was one of the main reasons that caused such a grave consequence for Georgia, such as the end of the rule of royal dynasty and the transformation of Georgia into Russia’s province.
