გუდამაყრის ხეობის მითოლოგიური გადმოცემები

The purpose of this work is to introduce us with the mythology of the Gudamakari Gorge, to examine typological similarities with the folklore material of the East Georgia and classify the existing material.
This gorge is outstanding, because it is populated not only with the ancient Georgians (natives of this gorge and Khevsurians), but also with other North Caucasian people, who are fully adapted to the local residence and environment and the folklore traditions reflect the synthesis of these cultures. This is precisely what leads to the diversity of the materials and genres.
During the Master's work I used books of outstanding scientists (Z. Kiknadze, K. Mamisimedishvili, E. Virsaladze and etc.), as well as data from the Tbilisi State University Folklore Archive and, of course, material personally collected by me. During the work appeared a number of specific features that are characteristic only for stories of Gudamakari Gorge, as well as typological similarities not only with Georgian but also with the North Caucasian folklore.
Nowadays the gorge is practically empty, so I had to visit the people, who emigrated from Gudamakari Gorge to Tbilisi. The result exceeded expectations. Some of the material, which is represented in my work is not fully found in the Folklore Archive or in books.
In the final chapter of the work, there is an information about the tradition-bearers, relatively new folklore material (poems, Kapias, etc.) which require detailed research. I hope that more scientists will get interested in this topic and my work will still contribute to the rescue of the Gudamakari gorge folklore.
