The work is devoted to the path through which the Greek critical thought about fiction passed.Were there any specific criteria for evaluating poetry and other genres of fiction? What did the ancient Greeks demand from poets?Based on a review of the works of famous ancient writers, it was shown how gradually an artistic word (epos, tragedy, rhetoric) became not only an event to been joyed, but an object of observation from geometric and archaic eras to the end of the classical age, Aristotle's Era, when eventually formed, and both in the Hellenistic and Post-Hellenistic periods gotits further development. It shows a variation in the literary taste of man in antiquity and advanced theories of famous thinkers of antiquity about what literary fiction should answer.
