ღვთისმშობლის კულტი აღმოსავლურ ტრადიციაში და მისი განსაკუთრებული ადგილი კოპტურ ეკლესიაში

Mary, the Mother of God, is one of the most eminent saints in the world. The influence of her cult is significant not only in the Christian, but also in the Islamic society. She is considered the noblest and the most beloved saint among all the saints. To her is dedicated the whole surah of the Koran.
This paper deals with the hagiographic, historical and homiletic materials about this saint. Particular attention is paid to the cult of Mary in the Eastern, Coptic and Egyptian traditions in general. There are named historical sites, churches and monasteries, which are associated with the flight of the Holy Family in Egypt.
