Abstract
The subject of the dissertation is Futurism as an avant-garde movement in art and literature, identifying similarities and differences between Italian, French, Russian, and Georgian futuristic literary movements, based on the study of historical and "philosophical" factors affecting the works created by the famous writers and artists of the movement. A parallel analysis of the reflection of color and form in futuristic works, poetry and paintings characteristic of these countries is presented in the final part of the dissertation paper.
The aim of the research paper is to study and discuss the essence of Futurism, its historical, political, social and literary backgrounds in a comparative context. An overview of the development of this movement in Europe – Italian, French, Russian cultural life and literature and its reflection in the Georgian reality. The development of Futurism in Georgia, comparing with the European literary experience, identifying the similarities and differences characteristic of the literary movement. We discuss the movement of futurism in connection with other avant-garde movements in Georgia, such as symbolism, as it preceded the spread of futurism in Georgia, and the previous literary-creative experience of futuristic authors was precisely symbolism. Therefore, Georgian Futurism preserves the best traditions of symbolism and we have studied the literary heritage of the movement based on the discussion of Georgian poetry. Georgian Futurism as a universal phenomenon or national, as Italian Futurism influences political life and becomes the ideological basis of Italian Fascism, Russian Futurism goes back to the 1917 revolution, while French Futurism changes its face and creates surrealism. In parallel with the research, our aim is to translate, process and analyze scientific and literary material related to the topic. As a result of the research, it was determined that European avant-garde and, in particular, Georgian Futurism were significantly influenced by European, Italian, French and Russian Futurism, although Georgian Futurism in art and literature is characterized by a certain individualism. The individual provisions presented in the paper are based on a wide range of issues, and the research outcomes allow us to highlight the main trends reflected in various directions in the Italian, French, Russian and Georgian literature and the history of literature in the first half of the XX century.
