Abstract
Today, when technologies are quite advanced, it is difficult to produce natural products, because the environment is polluted with harmful substances.The solution to the current situation lies in the introduction and development of organic farming. The role of organic farming is growing from year to year and with it the demand for ecologically clean products.The fact is that when a consumer realizes the positive qualities of a bio-product, he becomes a regular consumer and does not spare resources to buy it.
Organic farming has been gaining ground in Georgia in recent years, but many factors hinder its development. Farmers are also trying to export their products outside Georgia and improve their quality in line with EU standards.Some farmers have diversified their farms and linked it to agritourism. Through it, it has the opportunity to receive tourists, offer them overnight stays, show how various agricultural activities are carried out and also contribute to the promotion and advancement of the village in terms of tourism.
The aim of the paper is to discuss the role of organic farming in the development of agro-tourism and to identify the problems and challenges in this area.
