Onomastics of Village Dirbi

In the present work is discussed onomastic of the village Dirbi of Qareli region. This work is the firs attemptto study this village from the onomastic point of view. It,s true, that many researche were dedicated to the study of onomastic in linguistics, however, researching of this field is not yet exhausted. Therefore, each work which will help Improve of the results of this reserch is important and actual. We belive that the actuality of our work is due to this. We believe that the work will somehow contribute to better studying of the field. The purpose of the work was to study the onomastic material protected in the village, such as: village antiquities, customs, holidays, toponyms, hydronyms, anthroponyms (nicknames) and surnames. For this it was necessary describing, grouping of the relevant materialsand their linguistic analysis. In rhe work is analyzed the materials, which obtained by us during the field work and in the historical documents. The scientific research is based on the description and historical- comparsion method. We believe, that the materials discussed in the workand receivd results will provide some assistance for Kartlian dialectology And for the persons interested with the researchof onomasticion Qareli region.
