The project of diversion and mediation has not existed in the process of Georgian justice for a long time, nevertheless, it should be said that the diversion / mediation program has been successfully implemented and has already been transformed into a criminal policy guide with the introduction of liberal approaches.
However, there are gaps that need further research and analysis to avoid a heterogeneous and ambiguous understanding of a particular norm.The professionalism and productivity of the mediator and social worker are essential. Also, the maximum involvement of the victim in the diversion and mediation process is inevitable, the victim should be given the opportunity to go to court to protect and restore their rights.
The ongoing goal and interest of the diversion and mediation program is to give the juvenile a chance to make his mistake up in a non-criminal way.
