Types of attempted crime and their importance on the classification of an act as a crime

According to the Criminal Code of Georgia, Article 19, an attempt shall be an intentional act that was aimed at committing a crime, but the crime was inchoate. Since the crime is the basis of criminal responsibility, an attempted crime shall be determined under the relevant article of the Criminal Code of Georgia which prescribes liability for a completed crime, by making reference to the Article 19. Attempted crime is a type of an inchoate crime. Hence, it might be said that a person who committed an unlawful and guilty act, meaning attempted offense by either taking or not taking action ,will not be released from criminal liability. In such case, liability may be mitigated and he or she may even be released due to the negligible damage.
There are types of an attempted crime based on which the right and exact classification of a criminal act shall be conducted. Different opinions, theories and views have been presented by various scientists with regard to the above mentioned subject. An attempt may be made towards the subject in a variety of factual or legal positions, towards the object and through certain means. Since there are accomplished and inchoate attempts, it is crucial to distinguish them from each other based on the Georgian law and the legislations of the countries from overseas.
