Present condition of natural environment requires adequate reaction on changes of the natural environment by the researchers of geography, ecology and other natural sciences studying the earth, especially, they should focused on the impact of anthropogenic factors.
In order to solve the problem, it is of great importance to foresee changes of regularities of the whole geocomplex as open system and to conduct landscape analysis not only small size regions, but also on spaces of large physical geographical regions and drainage basins.
Regional research in Georgia was given systematic character. Study of the nature was provided by Georgian and foreign geographers as well. Since the second half of our century, research works of our geographers has gained the greatest importance.
On the background of Georgia and the whole territory of Caucasus, geographical studies of Shida Kartli was provided in the projections of ingredients of natural complex and naturalterritorial landscapes as well;
These studies have as scientific so practical value.
These studies were guided by expedition and cameral works. The studies of other components (relief, climate, inland waters, soil, flora and fauna) of nature of Shida Kartli was performed successfully and this is the same today. Great actual material has been gathered during geomorphological research of past and present relief of Shida Kartli.
