Abstract
Gender based violence and Domestic violence like all over the world, one in Georgia too represents
hard, specific and acute problem. The State apply various procedures to eliminate this problem, which
require different institutions engagement. Already for many decades, they have been fighting against
Domestic violence, though she still finds it different types of manifestations. It is worth mentioning,
that Domestic violence no longer considered only as “Family work”, and he has a bigger meaning,
which means that, Domestic violence is a crime before the society and the law is punished.
For that Domestic violence/Gender based violence overcoming is effective, it is necessary in this
process get involved not only one agency but also different institucions together. Institutions such as,
Lav enforcement system, Healt care system, Psycho-social servise, should be exercised joint, complex
events to eradicate Domestic violence/Gender based violence.
That is how it works this research, how it should be multi-sectoral response that domestic violence
effectivelu overcome. The objective of the research is, in general, explaining domestic violence
meaning and specific, explaining multi-sectoral response and introducing international experience, to
clear it, how it is implemented cooperation between different departments. The subject of mesearch
is introducing multi-sectoral system and to observe it. Research objects are institutions included in the
multi-sectoral team. Which are: Police, Social Worker, Healt care Representatives. It should me noted,
in a multi-sectoral team the role and involvement of NGOs.
Within of research from conducted interviews and focus groups it was revealed that for each member
involved in multi-sectoral response is necessary specifics and complecity of domestic violence
introducing more and deeper. Set up a joint action plan, which will be based on common principles.
One of the important reasing awareness members of the team involved in multi-sectoral response the
necessary procedure is monitoring. Interviewed experts are paying attention one the necessity in the
multy-sectoral team such institution, such as Ministry of Education, despite the measures taken and
changes in the legislation, was revealed the necessity of improving and flaws the participation of the
Prosecutor’s office. It should be noted that, the law enforcement system, police, is named asone of
the most active members of the multi-sectoral team. Experts talk about the need for involvement and
activation of the health care system. One of the most important issues is solving the problem of social
workers.
