ერის ცნების გააზრება საქართველოში 1900-1917 წლებში

The Master's thesis differs from other researches by its holistic approach. The work is
not limited to the analysis of the processes at the beginning of the XX century, there is also
examined the preconditions that have determined emergence of politicalviews in Georgia in
1900-1917 years.
The originality of the Thesis is conditioned by the research topic itself, because this issue
has been less investigated in the last few years. Materials that are often created on this topic are
often characterized by subjective approach (mainly due to the influence of Marxist ideology).
In this regard, we can consider that the novelty of the Thesis is Objective protection and
exclusion of dogmatic reasoning.
Understanding the concept of the topic – concept of nation in Georgia in 1900-1917 –
the actuality is conditioned by intensified ideological confrontation between Georgian political
parties for the beginning of the XX century that was clearly demonstrated in their discussion on
the national issue. In 1900-1917 years, the discussion on the concept of the nation continued
and this was the main reason for the main controversy and disagreement in the political and
social spheres, which intensifies our interest in this issue.
The purpose of our Master’s Thesis is to determine the causes of the confrontation
regarding the concept of nation in Georgia (in 1900-1917).
The subpurpose of the work is to determine the ideological and theoretical sources,
which the Georgian thinkers used in definition of the concept of nation (in 1900-1917).
