The work “Mental health and well-being in juvenile delinquents” includes an analysis of the
delinquents behavior of adolescents. Noweadays, illegal actions commited by adolescents are quite
an important issue. The crime statistics published by the National Statistics office of Georgia,
comfirms this importance. The statistics show that the delinquent behavior performed by
teenagers is a complex issue that needs to be researched.
Qualitative research was conducted with the method of in-depth interview. Interviews were
conducted by the guide made in advance. The purpose of the research was to analyze the welfare
and mental health of adolescents before getting to penitentiary system according to the child and
youth wel-being index analys. To achieve the purpose of this research, the objectives were
planned, such as, the debelopmental characteristics of adolescents, the role of mental health in the
adolescents’ behavior, determination of the mental health of adolescents was analyzed also wellbeing
of
edolescents
was
analyzed
before
entering
the
penitentiary
establishment.
