Abstract
The following work “How Trade unions assert Employees’ rights in Georgia?” is about Trade Unions’ activities in Georgia. The Subject matter is actual nowadays, as the practice of the protection of labour mechanisms have become more significance. When we talk about the protection of labor rights, the role of trade unions is important. Do they have enough power to protect the rights of employees in Georgia? What internal and external factors influence the trade union activities and what political environment they have created? The paper will discuss Georgian trade unions in historical and political context, including interviews with Pundits and analysis of documents. Interviews with experts mainly deal with the picture of the trade unions on how the interests of the employee, what internal and external factors affect their activities and what is the dynamics of recent years in this regard. How much state has improved after the labor legislation and what is the role of international organizations in the trade unions? Interviews were conducted with the management team of Georgian Trade Unions, who talked about their internal problems and the issues that affect their activities. The results of changes in labor legislation, judicial practice in the protection of the rights of employees and the attitude of the existing authorities to their activities. The attitude of the public is also important because the trade union is associated with the adoption of certain social benefits for the public, and they express dissatisfaction with the Georgian Trade Union Confederation. It was interesting that Employers' Association did not think that anyone employed in Georgia should be protected, but must defend themselves. The interviews with focus-groups were also discussed, which was conducted with employees of JSC "Georgian Railway". The goal of the focus-groups was to interview the employers who were members of the trade unions to understand what the trade unions were doing and how they protected their rights. Because of the two trade unions in JSC "Georgian Railway", the focus-groups were made with both trade union members. In the Paper I will try to answer these questions with complete answers and present the current state of Georgian trade unions.
