Abstract
As well as the organizational development researches, researches in coaching is considered a new
field in Georgia. Day in, day out using coaching for personal or career growth gets more and more
important. World’s practice shows that the implementation of coaching in the organization
significantly increases employees' motivation and productivity. This field in Georgia is less
developed, and therefore less or less relevant information or researches related to this field are
found. The purpose of this study is to determine the importance and role of coaching in the
development of NGOs in the pioneer phase on an example of Georgia. I researched the
nongovernmental organization in the pioneer phase to define its basic characteristics. In the pioneer
phase, the organization is working in a chaotic way and everything goes around a pioneer. It is
interesting how he/she solves the problems during the crisis or before the crisis. How does he/she
cope with the challenges. The subject of the research was to determine the role of coaching in the
development of NGOs in the pioneer phase on an example of Georgia, also it was important to
determine how the implementation of coaching works on a organizational climate and human
relations and how effective it is to implement functions and work. The main objectives of the study
were as follows: What kind of qualities pioneering phase NGOs have and how they are they
connected to pioneers’ qualities; Theoretically is the development of the organization linked to the
development and level of awareness of the pioneer? What is the difference between the organization
which implemented coaching and the organization which didn’t if they are same area and they have
the same development phase and what cause this differences; Who is a coach / client and what
process they go through during working together; Based on the topic and the interest of the
researcher, the research was held by the qualitative method. I used several methods of research:
literature review, analysis of documents, in-depth interviews. Within the survey, I used in-depth
interview method with the founder (pioneer) of the 2 pioneer phase non-governmental organization
and the current and a former employee of the same organizations. In the organization that uses
coaching, I had an interview with the current employee, And in an organization that does not use
coaching I had an interview with the former employee. The study revealed that the implementation
of coaching in organizations helps to harmonize relationships, and also positively affects
performance and motivation. The process of the setting goals and achieving them is easier for
management and employees.
