შიდა მიგრაციების სოციალურ-დემოგრაფიული და გეოგრაფიული თავისებურებები საქართველოში (2002-2014 წწ.)

The following master’s thesis gives an overview of the internal migration trends in Georgia, its socio-demographic and geographic features, it reveals the historical processes of Georgia’s migration and the regional peculiarities of internal migrations. The focus is also on organized migration, which is connected to the eco-migrants and the IDPs (internally displaced person).
The main findings include the portrayal of the main routes of the migrants, the explanation of the differences between the age-and gender-groups, and the dynamics of the ruralurban distribution of the population.
The analysis has been done according to the statistical data published by the National Statistics Office of Georgia and the State Commission on Migration Issues. The main novelty is that the public-geographical survey of our country has not yet been done about analyzing internal migrations according of the population census of 2014. In addition, the thesis innovatively suggests making maps using the Geographic Information System (GIS), which is the best way to perceive regional differences of internal migration and peculiarities of migrant behavior.
