ევროპის თავდაცვითი გაერთიანების ინიციატივა – „თავდაცვითი შენგენი“

Despite the economic might of the European Union, historically military potential has been its weakness. Since the failed attempt to create a defence union in 1950, it took the EU several decades to develop hard power of a moderate scale, with its primal focus on crisis management of civilian missions.
In summer of 2016 after the end of the BREXIT vote, European leaders proposed an ambitious plan which was one of the boldest defence integration initiative in years. The aim of this MA thesis is to research and find the reasons behind the move that put the defence integration on the EU agenda.
The topic is very actual since it has a key importance for the strategic architecture of the continent and the security of the neighboring regions, including the Sought Caucasus is directly connected to it.
