Abstract
The master’s thesis “Understanding nature of conflict in organized system through (using) narrative research” is devoted to examining nature of conflict on the example of one of the banks that operates in Georgian banking sector.
The introductory part of the thesis includes a brief description of the topic, its relevance , research tasks, methods and a review of the obtained results. The first chapter gives a definition of conflict in general, covers the history of its study, what approaches existed before and how has the contemporary view changed . The second chapter describes every characteristic of conflict: its types, nature and phases, how the process of conflict is unfolding and what are its behavioral patterns. The third chapter specifically explains the distinctive features of organizational conflict. The fourth chapter introduces research questions, tasks, methods, analysis of the results and recommendations.
Organizational conflicts often reflect deep systemic problems and are connected to the organizational culture : how is reality structured in organization, what are the origin of the conflicts and how people with deal them, its positive and negative consequences and what impact it has on key issues and development of organization .
