Abstract
The role of school and family has a great importance for bringing up the child as a
harmonious person, to achieve the best educational results, which is at the same time connected
to the parental involvement in school life.
According to international studies, pupils, whose parents are actively involved in the
educational process, achieve better results: their motivation increases, they have higher
academic achievements, their attendance rate is higher, they have positive behaviour, they are
friendly towards the school and they have self-confidence and believe in their abilities.
Studies show that parents' involvement is positively reflected not only on the learner but
also on the parent, teacher and in general on school.
That's why, today in the Georgian educational sphere, one of the most important topics is
the issue of parental involvement and identification of problems towards parental involvement.
This topic represents an important issue in research; therefore it is relevant to study. Since the
involvement of parents in Georgia is not properly studied.
It is also interesting for us whether there is a difference in parental involvement between public
and private schools. Because "parental involvement study" has never been conducted in terms of
comparative analysis at the basic level of public and private schools , so our research is novelty.
The hypothesis of the thesis: Some parents don’t have a proper understanding of the
importance of child's involvement in school life; Some schools don’t have targeted activities in
terms of increasing parents' involvement in school life; There is a difference between the public
and private schools in terms of the level of parental involvement.
