process in Georgia, from 2012 to 2017. Thesis analyzes theories of internationally recognized
authors about correlation between political decision-making process and business elites.
There is an attempt in the thesis to find correlation between interests of business
elites and political decisions, made by Georgia’s government from 2012 to 2017.
The work focuses on widespread political and economic problems in Georgia from
2012 to 2017, when interests of bussiness elites have crossed agenda of various interest
groups and those two actors have tried to influence poltical decision-making process to reach
their favourable decision.
In a first part of the work, political and economic issues, representing problems of
industrial, construction and banking spheres are described, problems of these three
important actors of Georgian economics had often provoked massive protests, which were
directed to business and political elites, for example, public opinion had emerged against
working condintions in industrial cities of Tkibuli and Chiatura, were dozens of miners have
been killed due to faulty infrastructure, dozens of workers have also been killed in Tbilisi,
construction areas, due to absence of security norms.
There is an attempt in this part of the work to systemize economic and social problems
of a given period (2012-2017), most important centers of the prostests are described in details,
where different activist groups, representatives of NGO’s and international organizat ions,
unhappy with economic policy have tried to actualize concrete cases and make it a subject of
public discussions.
