Demography and related issues have always been one of the top actual themes, as they have a significant impact on the development of the country and its future. Depending on the study topic, we will particularly focus on the modern trends in birth and mortality, the current situation in Georgia.
Nowadays many countries face demographicproblems and Georgia is not exception too.
There are negative trends in demographic development in Georgia. It is characterized by a sharp
fall in birth rate, an increase in mortality, and the logical consequence of all of these trends is a decrease in population growth.
There are many factors affecting on birth and mortality, as well as social, political, ethnic, psychological, economic and other factors.
The main purpose of the study is to show the current situation in Georgia, identify the main causes of birth and mortality changes and perform statistical analysis.
The tasks are to collect and process existing data, to learn and evaluate international statistical methodologies;calculate different statistical indicators according to birth rate and mortality rate of Georgian population; Identifying problems and defining the right directions; Identifying modern trends; Also, comparative analysis of statistical data to neighboring countries (Azerbaijan and Armenia).
The following research is based on the indicators of National Statistics Offices of Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia, Statistical reference "Health Protection" published by the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health,as well as resolutions and orders submitted by the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia.
