Abstract
Conducting objective, fair elections is a cornerstone of the country's democracy development, and conducting such an election campaign is important for Georgia as a country on the path to democracy.
The presented master's thesis discusses the role of the election campaign in the development of the country's democratic processes, the challenges that create a kind of problem in the country's transformation processes. The impact of early political processes on modernity, the foundations of democracy, the stages of the electoral system, the first democratic elections in Georgia and the involvement of the media, observers and citizens in this process are important. It is interesting to see the statistics of the involvement of Georgian citizens in the electoral process, which is becoming more and more noticeable and problematic, due to the unreliable attitude of citizens in the elections, both the process and the results, which is certainly the main challenge on building a democratic state. The variability of the electoral process from 1990 to the present is shown, Reasons for the decline of public confidence and its impact on the transparency of the election process. The paper presents the experience of foreign countries and compares it with the Georgian reality.
The findings and theories presented in the paper are supported by practical examples of research and analysis by world political scientists.
