Lazes are one of the grent, wonderful and full – blooded parts of the Georgian nation. They hed been settling on the Southern Black Sea Coast area for the centuries and since the ancient time they had left a significant mark in the history.
Unluckily, as a result of our common hard past, it was not always possible for Lazes to live with the people of various regions of Georgia within the common political space – inside the borders of the state. Even today, their living areas are included within the foreign country.
In the beginning of the 13th century – in the epoch of the Queen Tamar it was profitable to make Lazes a part of the Georgian state. Though, eventually Georgia’s dependent State – Trabzon Empire was formed. Exactly these issues are discussed and thought in the present piece of work.
