Theater is a very actual question for modern society. Based on its specificity it can be
discussed in various ways.
Theater is a part of the nation's culture. It needs development and attention.
The topic is also interesting in journalistic terms. It is important what the media does in order
to popularize theater.
The main goal of the research is to determine what broadcast media: television and radio do
in order to popularize theater.
What was before and what is it now?
Quantitative, comparative and content research has been used to answer the question.
Television, radio and press of the second half of the 20th century have been studied. Also, the same
media outlets of the XXI century have been studied in order to make comparison. As a result of the
comparison, the number of TV and radio programs does not give us a big change. Only content and
characters are changed.
As a result of quantitative research, it has been found that the society has a lack of
information provided by the media about the theater. The information is narrow-proof and rare.
As a result of the research, the attitudes and needs of people towards theater and media have
been identified.
