Abstract
The following Master's thesis concerns on the resource room and its role in the learning
process of pupils with special educational needs. It is known that Georgia's inclusive education
system has undergone many phases of development and it is still experiencing changes. One of
the essential parts of this process is the resource room which should exist in every school,
where the pupil with special educational needs is enrolled. The resource room should support
pupils' integration in the school space, helping pupils to develop skills and learn more. For this
purpose, the room should be equipped with appropriate material-technical resources. Thus, the
study of the role of the resource room is an important issue in the learning process of pupils
with special educational needs.
We discussed the existing literature and legislative regulations in relation with this topic. We
found that the purpose and role of the resource room is less learned, so this research is the
novelty.
As a result of interest of the topic and preliminary research, we developed the following
hypothesis: Most resource rooms are not equipped in accordance with the needs of pupils with
special educational needs, there is a lack of educational literature and teachers and therefore
these rooms can not fulfill their purpose.
