Abstract
Master's work concernswith the importance of citizenship education in secondary educational institutions of general instruction.
Neverassless of it, that citizenship education is widely represented in the National Legislation of Education, in the process of teaching, development of citizenship skills and values are not accomplished on purpose, while just it provides the formation of an individual as an educated citizen with sound mind, which is actively involved in making the public decisions, citizenship is mentioned among the five competences that are essential for social integration and democratic culture.
Referring all the mentioned above, determination of importance of citizenship education and focusing on practical implementation of citizenship education in secondary educational institutions of general instruction is defining the importance of our work.
