Abstract
Conflict as a social phenomenon represents an integral part of human life. Conflict management remains one of the most overriding challenges in the modern world and it requires multidisciplinary approaches to study the causes of a conflict, its supporting factors and the communities or individuals, involved in a conflict.
There are many causes of a conflict and they can be discussed on individual or collective level. Conflict in marriage is one of the types of a conflict. Based on the modern scholars, gender stereotypes often lead to the emergence of disagreement between the couple and it results in different forms of discrimination and in some cases even in death.
The aim of this work is to study the conflicts, emerged in marital relationship between the couples of the village Kumisi and demonstrate- Firstly, What is a leading factor of the conflicts? Secondly, on what level are the couples paired up on one another? In additionthe work illustrates the social environment of the aforementioned territorial unit, mainly – the location of the village, information about employment and cultural peculiarities of the local population, as these factors correlate to the object of the study.
200 people were participated in the study. (100 women, 100 man). Two questionnaires and 15 in-depth interviews were used for research. The study revealed that: 1. Conflicts between the couples in marital relationship are mostly caused by the gender determined stereotypes and 2. The level of pairing is high among the couples.
