Abstract
The following paper deals with one of the burning problem of Maternal and infant mortality in Georgia, that is still significantly widespread in Georgia, requiring an urgent attention. It also aims to reveal the essence of the issue, at what level of development Georgia is and what is the situation in the world.
Unfortunately, hundreds and thousands of women and babies (a child the age of 0 to 1) die every day in the world for various reasons, whether it is economic, political, social or other.
Generally, the object of the demographic study is the population. This is a living organism where develops significant demographic processes. While researching the thesis, there is a certain segment of the population, in particular, women who died of pregnancy problems or complications arising during childbirth as well as infants who have died before the age of 1 for various reasons.
The paper aims to describe the dynamics of maternal and infant mortality over a long period of time and show its specifics in Georgia and determine the ways of solving and mitigating the problem, emphasizing the key factors influencing the situation.
The maternal and infant mortality studies are the subject only to Disease Control and Prevention National Center (and only recently) up to present, highlighting the issue only to health perspective, that’s why our purpose is the demographic analysis of the problem as maternal and infant mortality is always caused by health condition or low quality of medical institution services.
The impact of environmental factors, political and social conditions, ecology and lifestyle is important.
