Abstract
The purpose of this graduation thesis is to analyze the role of business in effective development of labour market. It illustrates the research of demand-supply imbalance and basic challenges in business and labour market. In spite of job availability in Georgia, employment is hindered according to lack of qualification and growing demand in business. This has been an issue in labour market for years. The topic of this thesis is being more pressing considering recent events. Business and labour market are main challenges not only for Georgia, but for the world economy. The goal of research is to demonstrate role of business in increasing job positions and to determine the mutual dependence of business demand and labour market supply while filling job positions. To achieve above cited goal, this thesis reviews research projects about labour market in Georgia and data collection of National Statistics Office of Georgia. Firstly, the thesis reviews statistics to analyze events and procedures within labour market. At the same time, it reveals the role of business in employment based on statistics data. This thesis analyzes labour market research projects by Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development in 2017-2020. These research projects showed evident imbalance between demand and supply of labour. At the same time, it evaluated standards of most demanded professions and relevant qualifications in Georgia. It particularly focuses on the role of employee as the vital component for business and labour market. Considering the imbalance between demand and supply in Georgia, the qualification of employees is very important which also requires analysis for future perspectives. The research showed main reasons of imbalance between demand and supply. It evaluated the influence of COVID-19 and predictions on labour market. The thesis significantly shows attitude of business representatives to demand-supply issues. Based on the analysis of research results, I came up to the conclusion and relevant recommendations.
