Abstract
In first chapter we discussed secularism and experience throughout the history of Georgia.
Historical experience is always important in any topic, especially in sensitive topics, such as relationship between religious iinstitutions and State. Throughout the history of their county, people realize that protecting secularism is neither dangerous, nor bad for the country or its citizens. Contrary, it is necessary, because the more religion is separated from state politics the closer it is with its original mission, to guide human spirit. In this regard, Analyzing history of Georgia is sufficiently important. Does our country have experience in secularism? Answering this question will help us explain where does today’s Georgian society stand on this? How did Georgian society come to this point? In second chapter we discussed why religious institutions collaborate with political parties, what makes them work with political parties? Religious institutions, on one hand, are the institutions, which are interested in spiritual life rather than material life. Despite this, they stay involved in politics, which is portrayed as “dirty work” by several saints. In third chapter we tried to explain why political parties require help from religious institutions, what did political parties, as institution, went through since gaining independence and how did they fall into decay during this time, which, as a result, ledpoliticians to religious representatives.
