Abstract
Purpose of the study. The purpose of the study is to identify the main problems of the formation of civil society on the example of Tbilisi State School No. 192, to study the current situation of the school in relation to specific target groups of civic education.
The relevance of research. On the one hand, this is due to the fact that the main issues of the contradiction of legislation in the formation of civil society at school were not studied in practical or scientific terms. The role of schools in the formation of civil society is poorly understood.
Research Task Force. The target group of the study is students, teachers, parents of a public school (Tbilisi State School 192). To achieve the validity of the study, it is important that study participants include a significant scale in quantitative terms.
Research methodology. For research purposes, qualitative and quantitave research methods are used (questionnaires, open-ended questions). Using this research methods allows researchers to explain details that should not be overlooked. By qualitative methods, we receive more detailed information from people whose opinion we learn.
For the purposes of the study, we prioritized the use of quantitative research methods. Traditionally, qualitative research aims at an in-depth study of the research topic - an in-depth study of the attitudes, motivations, or preferences of survey respondents. Unlike the quantitative research methods, the data obtained from the qualitative research are not statistically processed and their results are not representative, although the qualitative research methodology enables in-depth information on the research topic.
A qualitative method, in addition to studying the opinions of respondents, the researcher can get information in addition to the questions “how”, “how often” and “how much”. Within the framework of the study, using a qualitative research method, a certain segment was studied (students, teachers, parents of Tbilisi State School No. 192).
