Arranging and booking a trip via the Internet is now the norm for travelers. The Internet presents a great possibility for the tourism industry to sell and market their services online. Travel agents used to be the main providers of booking systems but with the development of information technology, this trend has shifted, and new leaders appeared on the market such as online travel agents (OTA - Online Travel Agency). Hotel Online Booking Systems, which on the one hand, help in enhancing the efficiency of the enterprise, on the other hand, facilitate the booking process.
Since tourism is a priority sector for Georgia, the hotel industry is especially strong in terms of increasing efficiency management, which is directly related to the use of information technologies, primarily an efficient cooperation with online booking systems.
This master's thesis aims to study how efficiently Georgian Hotel industry uses online hotel booking systems and their significant impact on different types of hotels.
