The analysis shows that despite the favorable climatic and natural conditions for the development of agriculture in Georgia, the pace of development of the sector has lagged significantly behind the growth rates of other sectors of the economy in recent decades.
The study provides a general overview of the Georgian agricultural sector, the main problems and challenges.
The government policy regarding the agricultural sector of Georgia is analyzed and evaluated.
Based on the available statistical data, the main directions and measures of the Strategy for the Development of Agriculture in Georgia for 2015–2020 are reviewed and their impact on the main macroeconomic indicators of the country is assessed.
The projects implemented in the field in recent years are submitted in detail and the results of their implementation in the country's economy are presented.
Using statistical research methods we have conducted a statistical analysis of the sector and identified trends in the sector development.
